LAHORE — A state-of-the-art Didactic and Dialogue Centre (DDC) has been inaugurated at the Institute of Industrial Engineering & Management (IIEM), University of the Punjab (PU). The new facility is equipped with an advanced video conferencing system featuring an 86-inch interactive smart LED, designed to enhance didactic learning, collaboration, and knowledge sharing among students and faculty.
The DDC has been established under the Erasmus+ European co-funded project titled “Sustainability and Quality Assurance for Academic Governance and Redesigning Engineering Studies.” The project marks a major milestone as the first-ever initiative awarded to the University of the Punjab by the European Commission.
Dr. Muhammad Shafiq, Director IIEM and Project Leader, said the project is an international capacity-building initiative focused on strengthening engineering education and fostering innovation.
> “The establishment of the DDC reflects the vision of PU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali to promote quality education, research excellence, and technological advancement,” Dr. Shafiq stated.
He added that the DDC will play a pivotal role in advancing interactive learning, research, and innovation, while serving as a vital platform for industry-academia collaboration through applied research and dialogue between students, faculty, and industry professionals.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Dean, Faculty of Quality & Industrial Systems Engineering, Director IIEM, Director IQTM, and other distinguished faculty members.
In a separate development, the Punjab University Examinations Department has declared the result of the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm-D), Final Professional, Annual Examination 2025. Results are available at www.pu.edu.pk.
