Ashgabat: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has warned that a “new and serious wave of terrorism is emerging from Afghan soil” and urged the international community to press the Afghan interim authorities to fulfill their commitments to regional and global security.
Speaking at the World Peace Forum in Ashgabat, the prime minister said that the declaration of 2025 as the International Year of Peace is a welcome development, adding that Pakistan will continue to contribute actively to global peace initiatives.

He reiterated that peaceful resolution of conflicts remains a cornerstone of Pakistan’s foreign policy and emphasized that Pakistan will continue to advocate for stability and peace across the region.
