Islamabad: Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar has described the court verdict in the Toshakhana-II case as a fair and justice-based decision.
Speaking to Geo News, Tarar stated that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi undervalued gifts received during official visits, causing the government to receive a lower payment and resulting in millions of rupees in losses to the state, while retaining the gifts for personal use.
Regarding the timing of the sentence, Tarar clarified that the Toshakhana-II case sentence will not be enforced immediately. He explained that it will begin only after the completion of Khan’s 14-year sentence in the 190 million-pound case. Once that sentence is served, the 17-year sentence in the Toshakhana-II case will commence.
This clarification comes amid rising public and political attention on the enforcement of high-profile court sentences in Pakistan.
