LAHORE: The Pakistan China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) has achieved a major milestone in its efforts to strengthen bilateral ties between Pakistan and China, after being honoured with two prestigious China Friendship Awards in recognition of its outstanding contributions to economic cooperation and people-to-people engagement.
The awards were presented by Zhao Shiren, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China, who acknowledged PCJCCI’s role in promoting Pakistan–China friendship, enhancing trade and investment, and reinforcing the long-term strategic partnership between the two countries.
On the occasion, the China Friendship Award was conferred upon Nazir Hussain, President PCJCCI, in recognition of his visionary leadership and sustained efforts to deepen bilateral trade relations, attract Chinese investment, and strengthen institutional collaboration. Under his leadership, PCJCCI has emerged as a key platform for facilitating business-to-business linkages, supporting joint ventures, encouraging industrial cooperation, and fostering dialogue between public and private sector stakeholders of both countries.
His initiatives have played a significant role in expanding economic engagement, particularly within the framework of the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and other strategic cooperation initiatives.
Additionally, Amir Ali, Executive Committee Member of PCJCCI, was also honoured with the China Friendship Award for his dedicated services in promoting people-to-people connectivity and business cooperation between Pakistan and China. His proactive engagement with Chinese counterparts and active participation in bilateral initiatives have contributed to building mutual trust and advancing sustainable economic relations.
Addressing the award ceremony, Consul General Zhao Shiren praised PCJCCI for serving as a strong and reliable bridge between Pakistan and China. He emphasized that the Chamber’s leadership and collaborative efforts are instrumental in further deepening the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership, enhancing mutual confidence, and advancing shared goals of economic development, prosperity, and regional connectivity.
In his remarks, Nazir Hussain reaffirmed PCJCCI’s commitment to working closely with Chinese institutions, enterprises, and diplomatic missions. He reiterated the Chamber’s resolve to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation, support CPEC-related projects, promote cross-sector investment, and explore new avenues of collaboration aligned with the long-term development objectives of both countries.
PCJCCI described the honours as not only recognition of individual achievements but also a testament to the collective efforts of the Chamber and its members. The organisation said the recognition would serve as renewed motivation to further contribute to enduring friendship, deeper economic integration, and shared progress between Pakistan and China.
