LAHORE — Police Khidmat Marakaz have emerged as a key digital platform for the delivery of public services, with more than 1.85 million citizens benefiting from various facilities during the current year, officials said on Tuesday.
According to a spokesperson for Lahore Police, the centres issued over 138,000 police character certificates, while more than 285,000 citizens availed different verification services. During the same period, 450 crime reports were lodged and more than 16,000 lost reports were registered. In addition, over 15,000 copies of first information reports (FIRs) were provided to applicants.
The spokesperson said Police Khidmat Marakaz also facilitated a wide range of driving licence-related services. More than 823,000 learner driving licences and 369,000 driving licences were issued, while over 164,000 licences were renewed. In addition, around 8,000 duplicate licences were issued and 24,000 international driving licences were processed.
Other services provided during the year included the registration of tenancy information for 2,206 tenants, while 1,026 citizens availed vehicle verification services.
Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana said Police Khidmat Marakaz were playing a vital role in providing prompt relief to citizens. He added that the centres had become a symbol of trust, convenience, and transparency, noting that one-window digital services were significantly improving the quality of public service delivery as part of ongoing police reforms.
