Rawalpindi: Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, attended Christmas celebrations at Christ Church, Rawalpindi, joining the Christian community in commemorating the festive occasion.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Field Marshal extended heartfelt Christmas greetings to the Christian community and conveyed his best wishes for peace, harmony, and prosperity across the country.
On the occasion, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir paid tribute to the Founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, highlighting his vision of equality, freedom, and religious tolerance. He emphasized that the protection of minority rights remains a fundamental pillar of Pakistan’s ideology.
While interacting with church attendees, the Field Marshal acknowledged the long-standing and commendable contributions of Pakistani Christians to national development and security, noting their generations of distinguished service in the Pakistan Armed Forces. He stressed the importance of interfaith harmony, mutual respect, and national unity.
ISPR stated that Pakistan’s true strength lies in its constitutional values and equal opportunities, which transcend religion, ethnicity, caste, and creed. The Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Staff reaffirmed that the Pakistan Armed Forces remain fully committed to safeguarding the dignity, security, and equal rights of all citizens under the Constitution of Pakistan.
According to ISPR, leaders of the Christian community expressed gratitude for the Field Marshal’s visit and appreciated the role of the Pakistan Army in promoting national defense, religious harmony, and unity.
