The Punjab government has announced that, starting February 1, all services on the e-Biz Portal will be available exclusively online, eliminating the need for citizens to visit government offices. The move aligns with Chief Minister Punjab’s digital governance vision, which aims to expand the portal’s services to 310 by March, significantly improving access to public services through a single digital platform.
The decision was finalized at a meeting of the Administrative Secretaries’ Committee, chaired by Chief Secretary Punjab Zahid Akhtar Zaman at the Civil Secretariat, where progress on the e-Biz Portal, the e-Filing and Office Automation System (e-FOAS), and broader administrative reforms were reviewed. The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) was directed to meet the March target of 310 services.
Currently, 210 services from 15 departments are live on the portal, which has processed over 14,500 applications digitally out of 17,622 received so far. Chief Secretary Zaman emphasized that digitizing administrative processes will enhance transparency, efficiency, and faster decision-making across the province.
The meeting was attended by senior officials, including the Additional Chief Secretary, Chairman Planning & Development, Senior Member Board of Revenue, and all administrative secretaries, with other key officials participating via video link.
