LAHORE: Muhammad Naeem Khan, Professor Emeritus at University of the Punjab, has been declared a distinguished speaker at the World Fisheries and Aquaculture Development Summit (WDAFS) held in Portland, USA.
The recognition highlights his individual academic achievement and also reinforces Punjab University’s growing reputation as a centre of academic excellence and intellectual leadership.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Naeem Khan presented his research paper titled “Indus Waters Treaty Suspension Threatening Pakistan’s Aquatic Biodiversity and Ecosystems” at the global forum. His participation provided an opportunity to share research insights, exchange ideas, and strengthen international academic collaboration.
During his presentation, he discussed the environmental and ecological implications of the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, stressing its potential impact on Pakistan’s aquatic biodiversity, river ecosystems, and fisheries sector. He emphasized the importance of regional cooperation and sustainable water management for environmental stability and the protection of natural resources.
