LAHORE, May 12: Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana chaired a high-level meeting at his office to review the performance of the Iqbal Town and Saddar divisions, along with the overall law and order situation in the provincial capital.
During the meeting, the CCPO directed officials to ensure foolproof security arrangements at cattle markets ahead of Eid-ul-Azha. He ordered strict measures to prevent theft of sacrificial animals and instructed police to protect citizens from fraud and financial exploitation during buying and selling activities.
Bilal Siddique Kamyana emphasized that strict action should be taken against individuals involved in cheating and fraudulent practices in cattle trade. He also directed an intensified crackdown against illegally residing Afghan nationals and stressed strict enforcement of the law in all cases.
He reiterated that no negligence would be tolerated in the prompt registration of FIRs and timely delivery of justice to citizens. He said eliminating crimes against women and children remains a top priority for the police.
The CCPO instructed the SSP (Operations) to personally supervise operations against gambling dens and centres involved in immoral activities, emphasizing the need for effective and proactive policing to maintain the writ of the state.
Highlighting preventive policing measures, he directed officials to ensure installation of barriers, CCTV cameras, and deployment of security guards in residential areas. He also instructed housing societies to strictly implement security SOPs.
Bilal Siddique Kamyana urged senior police officers to adopt modern and innovative policing strategies alongside traditional methods to improve crime control. He further directed that public dealing at police offices should be improved and unnecessary delays avoided, ensuring timely resolution of complaints.
The meeting was attended by DIG (Admin) Imran Kishwar, DIG (Investigation) Zeeshan Raza, DIG (Operations) Faisal Kamran, SSP (Investigation) Mohammad Naveed, SSP (Operations) Tauqeer Mohammad Naeem, along with SPs, ASPs, circle officers, SHOs, and investigation in-charges of Iqbal Town and Saddar divisions.
