Lahore Press Club Playing Historic Role in National Politics and Journalism: Azma BokhariCongratulates newly elected office-bearers

LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari has extended heartfelt congratulations to the newly elected office-bearers of the Lahore Press Club (LPC), praising the institution’s longstanding and influential role in Pakistan’s political and journalistic landscape.
In a congratulatory message, she congratulated President Arshad Ansari, Secretary Afzal Talib, and the Journalists Panel on their success in the LPC elections. She also congratulated Senior Vice President Salman Qureshi, stating that his victory reflects the strong confidence and trust of the journalist community.
Azma Bokhari offered special congratulations to Vice Presidents Madiha Almas and Nasira Ateeq, noting that the decisive election of two women journalists is a positive and encouraging development. She said their success is a clear endorsement of women’s professional capabilities and growing leadership role in the field of journalism.
The Punjab minister said the Lahore Press Club has historically played a pivotal role in shaping Pakistan’s political discourse and journalistic traditions, adding that many prominent political figures and renowned journalists launched their professional careers from this platform.
Expressing confidence in the newly elected leadership, Azma Bokhari said she hopes President Arshad Ansari and his team will play an active and effective role in resolving journalists’ issues, promoting their welfare, and further strengthening press freedom. She reaffirmed that the Punjab government will continue to extend full cooperation and support to the journalist community.
