Lahore, Pakistan – January 31, 2026
Pakistan delivered a dominant performance to crush Australia by 90 runs in the second T20 International at Gaddafi Stadium, sealing the three-match series 2-0 with one game remaining. This marks Pakistan’s largest victory by runs against Australia in T20I history, surpassing their previous best of 66 runs (in Abu Dhabi, 2018).
Captain Salman Ali Agha led from the front with a career-best 76 off 40 balls, supported by Usman Khan’s explosive 53 off 36 deliveries, powering Pakistan to a strong total of 198 for 5 after winning the toss and electing to bat on a slow pitch.
In reply, Australia’s batting collapsed dramatically against Pakistan’s spin attack. They were bowled out for just 108 in 15.4 overs. Cameron Green top-scored with 35, but the middle order offered little resistance. Abrar Ahmed took 3-14, Shadab Khan claimed 3-26, and Mohammad Tariq chipped in with 2-16 as the spinners ran riot.
This defeat is Australia’s heaviest in T20Is since a 100-run loss to England in 2005 (the second-ever T20I match), and their second-biggest overall in the format. It is also Pakistan’s first T20I series win over Australia since 2018.
The series opener saw Pakistan win by 19 runs (or 22 runs in some reports), setting the tone for this comprehensive victory. The final match is scheduled for Sunday in Lahore, though the series is already decided.
Pakistan’s spinners proved decisive once again, highlighting their growing strength in the shortest format ahead of future major tournaments.
