LAHORE: Under the vision of Chief Minister Punjab, the provincial Communication and Works (C&W) Department has officially launched the Sohne Pind – Sohniyan Rahwan Program, a major initiative aimed at improving road infrastructure across the province.
Provincial Minister for Communications Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bhurth said the program focuses on the rehabilitation of damaged and dilapidated roads, covering not only major highways but also key rural and local roads throughout Punjab.
A total of 1,530 development schemes from across the province have been included in the initiative, with an estimated total cost of Rs 79 billion. The minister confirmed that tender notices for all schemes have already been issued.
The program is expected to significantly improve travel facilities in rural areas, facilitate the transportation of agricultural produce to markets, and enhance day-to-day commuting for local residents.
Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bhurth added that the Sohne Pind – Sohniyan Rahwan Program will provide substantial benefits to both citizens and farmers, contributing to economic activity and improved connectivity across Punjab.
