Action Against Agents Exploiting Ramadan Relief Beneficiaries in Depalpur

DEPALPUR: Authorities in Depalpur have taken action against agents accused of illegally collecting money from deserving beneficiaries of the Chief Minister Punjab’s Ramadan relief package.
Under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner Faisal Shehzad Cheema, three agents were arrested and their shops sealed during a crackdown against those exploiting applicants of the Nigahban Ramadan Package.
According to official details, the action was initiated after complaints that certain agents were charging money from individuals eligible for financial assistance under the provincial government’s Ramadan relief scheme. Law enforcement personnel, acting under the directives of the Assistant Commissioner, conducted raids and apprehended the suspects on the spot.
Speaking on the occasion, Assistant Commissioner Faisal Shehzad Cheema stated that the Ramadan relief initiative launched under the directives of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is a public welfare program aimed at providing free financial assistance to deserving families. He emphasized that any individual found exploiting beneficiaries or charging illegal fees would face strict legal action.
“Agents who collect money from deserving people will be dealt with iron hands,” he said, urging citizens to report such elements to the administration to ensure transparency and fair distribution of relief funds.
The district administration reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding public welfare initiatives and ensuring that government assistance reaches the rightful beneficiaries without interference or corruption.
