LAHORE: University of the Punjab (PU) on Monday organized a special ceremony to acknowledge the generous support extended by the Qasim Ali Shah Foundation (QASF) to deserving students through scholarships.
Currently, under its “Taleem Mumkin Scholarship Program,” the foundation is sponsoring the education of 107 students at Punjab University. The event was attended by renowned motivational speaker and educationist Qasim Ali Shah, Director PU Planning & Development Prof Dr Hafiz Anwaar Asghar, faculty members, and students.
Addressing the gathering, Qasim Ali Shah highlighted the vision and mission of the foundation. Established in 2017, QASF is a non-profit organization dedicated to grooming youth through personal development, leadership training, and motivational learning opportunities. He emphasized that the foundation focuses on capacity building, self-motivation, skill development, and preparing future leaders for the betterment of society and Pakistan.
He shared that under the current collaboration from March 2025 to February 2026, 107 PU students are receiving a monthly stipend of PKR 10,000 each. By December 2025, a cumulative amount of PKR 9.33 million had been disbursed to the current batch. Overall, from January 2021 to December 2025, the foundation has provided scholarships worth PKR 55.13 million to PU students.
According to details, the Taleem Mumkin Scholarship Program has so far supported 304 students, including 197 graduates, ensuring continuity of education through sustained financial assistance.
Speaking on the occasion, Director P&D Prof Dr Hafiz Anwaar Asghar presented the portfolio of the Student Financial Aid Office and emphasized that the selection process is conducted strictly on fair, transparent, and merit-based criteria. He noted that interviews of more than 20,000 applicants have been conducted over time, many belonging to remote and underprivileged areas of Pakistan.
He appreciated the voluntary services of QASF for student development and extended a vote of thanks to Qasim Ali Shah on behalf of the university. Success stories of scholarship recipients were also shared, highlighting the transformative impact of financial support.
Later, Qasim Ali Shah visited the Vice Chancellor’s office and met PU Vice Chancellor Muhammad Ali. During the meeting, the Vice Chancellor expressed gratitude for the foundation’s continued partnership and support in assisting deserving students.
