Syed Yahya Hussain Shah, Advisor to the Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan, met with the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan, Dr. Reza Amiri Moghadam, in Islamabad on Wednesday. The meeting was also attended by the Second Secretary and Political Officer of the Iranian Embassy, Mr. Hadi Gulraiz.
On behalf of Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and the Pakistani nation, Syed Yahya Hussain Shah conveyed profound grief and heartfelt condolences over the passing of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, affirming that Pakistan stands firmly with Iran in this hour of sorrow.
Praising the resilience of the Iranian people, the Senate Advisor stated: “The passing of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is a great tragedy, but the Iranians are a brave nation. The steadfastness with which the Iranian people are bearing this shock is commendable. The doors of diplomacy remain open for Iran.”
He further emphasized the strength of bilateral relations, noting that Iran has never attacked its neighbors and has always been a seeker of peace in the region. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s solidarity, saying: “We do not accept any propaganda against the facts. Iran is our brotherly neighboring country, and we are true partners in your grief.”
Iranian Ambassador Dr. Reza Amiri Moghadam expressed gratitude to the leadership and people of Pakistan for their sentiments of sympathy and solidarity.
