Washington, March 10, 2026 – Senator Lindsey Graham, a close ally of US President Donald Trump, has voiced strong disappointment with Saudi Arabia for refusing to engage militarily against Iran, amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.
In a recent statement, Graham criticized the Kingdom for not deploying its forces to help dismantle the Iranian regime, which he accused of spreading terror across the region and being responsible for the deaths of seven Americans.
“Why should the United States maintain a defense pact with a country like Saudi Arabia that isn’t willing to fight for our mutual interests?” Graham questioned, highlighting the perceived lack of reciprocity in the longstanding US-Saudi alliance.
The senator also revealed that the US Embassy in Riyadh is being evacuated due to ongoing Iranian attacks, underscoring the severity of the security threats posed by Tehran.
This development comes as relations between the US, Saudi Arabia, and Iran remain strained, with Washington pushing for stronger regional coalitions to counter Iranian influence. Officials from the Saudi government have yet to respond to Graham’s remarks.
