LAHORE: Inspector General of Punjab Police, Abdul Kareem, met with police personnel and their family members at the Central Police Office, where he listened to their concerns and directed relevant authorities to ensure immediate resolution of issues.
According to official details, the IG issued specific instructions on a number of individual cases. On the request of Lady Constable Mubeen Akram regarding her transfer, directions were given to the DIG Establishment-II to provide relief. Similarly, on an application submitted by the wife of former Sub-Inspector Muhammad Aslam, the District Police Officer (DPO) of Rahim Yar Khan was directed to take necessary action.
In cases involving families of deceased personnel, the IG ordered relief measures on requests submitted by the widow of late Constable Safdar Ali regarding her son’s recruitment, and by the widow of late Constable Muhammad Shakeel regarding her son’s transfer. On the request of Lady Inspector Tooba Munir, instructions were issued to the Additional IG IAB for appropriate action.
IG Abdul Kareem also reviewed applications related to discipline, administration, promotions, and welfare, reiterating that the well-being of police personnel and their families remains a top priority. He emphasized that timely and effective redressal of grievances will be ensured.
Meanwhile, Punjab Police Khidmat Marakaz continue to provide modern, digital services to citizens across the province. During the current year, more than 1.049 million citizens have benefited from various services offered at these centers.
According to a spokesperson, over 375,000 citizens obtained general police verification, while more than 220,000 were issued police character certificates. Additionally, over 267,000 citizens registered tenancy details, and 32,940 medico-legal certificates were issued. Under initiatives aimed at vulnerable groups, more than 39,000 individuals received legal and social protection.
The spokesperson further stated that 9,511 citizens availed vehicle verification services, over 24,000 reported lost documents, and 763 crime reports were registered. A total of 44,741 citizens obtained copies of FIRs, while 17 cases related to violence against women were recorded. Moreover, 45,000 citizens completed employee registration (ROPE), and 522 individuals obtained police verification for private employment.
Highlighting the importance of service delivery, IG Abdul Kareem described Police Khidmat Marakaz as a flagship public service initiative providing round-the-clock facilities. He also directed officers to ensure courteous and respectful behavior towards citizens at service centers, police stations, and other public dealing points.
