No hospital in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after 13 years where the founder could be treated? Questions Faisal Karim Kundi
Peshawar (March 26, 2026): Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has launched a sharp attack on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), claiming that party members themselves say “the longer Imran Khan remains in jail, the more they enjoy it.”
Speaking on PTI’s 13-year rule in the province, the governor questioned the party’s development record and asked: “In 13 years of PTI government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, was not a single hospital built where the party founder could receive treatment?”
Governor Kundi criticized the lack of mega projects and adequate healthcare facilities in the province despite PTI’s long stint in power. He alleged that PTI leadership and workers are politically benefiting from Imran Khan’s continued imprisonment and demanded action against PTI lawmakers and leaders.
The governor further stated that protests, sit-ins, and road blockades will not end Imran Khan’s sentence or provide him treatment. He described PTI’s strategy as emotional politics that has failed to deliver on governance.
No immediate official response has come from PTI leadership, though party supporters on social media have dismissed the governor’s remarks as politically motivated.
The statements come amid ongoing debates over Imran Khan’s health, imprisonment in Adiala Jail, and PTI’s performance during its previous terms in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
