Karachi: The Climate Vulnerable Forum and V20 Finance Ministers (CVF-V20) Secretariat and JS Bank have formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration on Pakistan’s Climate Prosperity Plan (CPP), aiming to convert the country’s climate vulnerability into economic resilience and sustainable growth.
The agreement focuses on mobilizing green investments across renewable energy, green transportation, sustainable infrastructure, and climate-resilient agriculture. Both parties will work to establish a local resource mobilization group to channel domestic capital toward CPP priorities.
Hamza Haroon, Regional Director for South and West Asia at the CVF-V20 Secretariat, said partnerships with leading banks are essential to unlocking climate-aligned investment flows. JS Bank’s Chief of Staff Noman A. Soomro reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to delivering bankable climate projects for Pakistani communities.
