ISLAMABAD —Bureau Report Muhammad Saleem In a significant step towards the welfare of the journalist community, the Islamabad Union of Journalists (IUJ) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nayab Lab, entitling union members and their families to a 40 percent special discount on all available medical testing services.

The agreement was reached with Nayab Lab CEO Nawab Zaheeruddin Sheikh, with the primary objective of ensuring that journalists have access to quality and affordable healthcare facilities.
The signing ceremony was attended by IUJ President Fayyaz Tanoli, General Secretary Sardar Sajjad Tariq, Finance Secretary Malik Najeeb, and other office bearers of the union.
Following the signing ceremony, Nayab Lab staff conducted a detailed tour of the facility for the union representatives, including a special visit to the CT scan section. The staff highlighted that the lab is equipped with a state-of-the-art CT scan machine of the latest model, which emits 60 percent less harmful radiation compared to conventional machines — making it significantly safer for patients. The lab management assured that every member of the Islamabad Union of Journalists would be provided with the highest standard of services without compromise.
Speaking on the occasion, IUJ Chairman Shah Nawaz Khan described the agreement as a milestone for journalist welfare, saying it would directly benefit members and their families. He reaffirmed the union’s commitment to pursuing further welfare initiatives for the journalist community in the future, emphasising that the wellbeing of its members remains a top priority.
