Islamabad (Press Release) — Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif presided over a high-level meeting to review the country’s petroleum products reserves in view of the prevailing tensions in the region.

The Prime Minister was given a detailed briefing on the current petroleum stocks, future requirements, and consumption patterns in the country. It was informed that adequate quantities of petroleum products are available in Pakistan, but it is essential to maintain austerity and conservation measures.
PM Shehbaz Sharif directed continuous monitoring of petroleum consumption across the country. He stated that due to constant monitoring of fuel consumption and stocks, along with better planning, no fuel shortage crisis has emerged despite regional tensions.
He emphasized that all steps taken to provide relief to the masses will continue. Arrangements for future imports of petroleum have already been made in view of upcoming requirements.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Cheema, Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervez Malik, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and senior officials of the concerned departments.
