Miss Universe Pakistan 2025 Roma Riaz to Represent Pakistan at the 79th Cannes Film Festival

Lahore/Islamabad: Roma Riaz, crowned Miss Universe Pakistan 2025, is set to grace the red carpet at the prestigious 79th Cannes International Film Festival in France this year.
The festival, one of the world’s most renowned cinema events, will run from May 12 to May 23, 2026, featuring screenings of selected films from around the globe along with glamorous red carpet appearances.
During the event, Roma Riaz will showcase outfits by various international fashion designers, highlighting Pakistan on the global stage once again.
Roma Riaz, a British-Pakistani model originally from Lahore, belongs to Pakistan’s Christian community and comes from a Punjabi Pakistani family. She made history as one of the first dark-skinned women to represent Pakistan at Miss Universe, boldly challenging toxic beauty standards, colorism, and body shaming.
In a recent Instagram post, she announced: “See you in Cannes @festivaldecannes,” thanking her team for making the opportunity possible.
This appearance marks a significant milestone for the 25-year-old beauty queen, who is based in Manchester, UK, and continues to inspire many by promoting diversity and representation.
