LAHORE: The 25th session of the Pakistan Philosophical Association was held at the Gymkhana Club Lahore, bringing together scholars, academics, and students for an engaging intellectual discourse.
The session was chaired by Dr. Ijaz-ul-Haq Ijaz, while Dr. Sajid Ali, former Head of the Department of Philosophy at University of the Punjab, attended as the chief guest. The event was organized by Dr. Javed Iqbal Nadeem, who also serves as the President of the association.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Sajid Ali delivered a comprehensive lecture on “Islam and the Growth of Inductive Thought in the Light of Iqbal’s Thought.” He emphasized that a lack of proper understanding of philosophical concepts has made inductive reasoning more complex, urging scholars to revisit philosophical traditions with greater clarity.
In his presidential address, Dr. Ijaz-ul-Haq Ijaz praised the insightful presentation by the chief guest and commended the association for organizing a meaningful academic forum.
Concluding the session, Dr. Javed Iqbal Nadeem thanked the distinguished participants and elaborated on the importance of inductive logic in contemporary philosophical studies.
The event was attended by a large number of scholars and intellectuals, including Ghalib Ali Bandisha, Dr. Muhammad Akram Chaudhry, Syed Mustehsan Rizvi, Dr. Muhammad Idrees Rana, Professor Tanveer Sadiq, Dr. Shafiq Ajami, Saleheen Bakht, Dr. Sobia Tahir, Dr. Sobia Tabassum, Fatima Qamar, Dr. Abida Batool, Zafar Iqbal Chaudhry, Ishrat Shamim, Dr. Hassan Farooqi, Zafar Iqbal Bhatti, Ehsaas Batalvi, Dr. Fawzia Tabassum, Rozeena Faisal Butt, Wafa Tabassum Azhar, Awais Malik, and others.
On the occasion, Dr. Waheed-uz-Zaman Tariq presented his books to Dr. Javed Iqbal Nadeem, marking a significant addition to the scholarly exchange at the event.
