Educational Institutions Urged to Promote Awareness on Kashmir Cause

LAHORE: Chairman of the All Pakistan Colleges and Academies Association, Rana Ansar Mahmood, has stressed the need to raise awareness among the younger generation regarding the Kashmir cause, calling it a matter of national importance.
He expressed these views during his visit to the Kashmir Center Lahore, where he met with the In-charge Inam-ul-Hasan. He was accompanied by Dr. Muhammad Abdullah.
During the visit, the In-charge briefed the delegation on the performance and initiatives of the Kashmir Center Lahore and the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Cell regarding advocacy for the Kashmir cause.
Speaking on the occasion, Rana Ansar Mahmood emphasized that educational institutions must actively inform students about the historical and ideological significance of Kashmir. He noted that Muhammad Ali Jinnah had declared Kashmir as the “jugular vein” of Pakistan, underscoring its critical importance.
He further stated that the Kashmir issue is not only a concern for the millions of Kashmiris but also directly linked to Pakistan’s security and stability. Highlighting its religious, ideological, geographical, and defense dimensions, he said Kashmir holds a central place in Pakistan’s national framework.
Paying tribute to the ongoing struggle of the Kashmiri people, he said the younger generation must be educated about both the historical background and the current situation of the issue. He added that awareness can be enhanced through seminars, conferences, lecture series, and quiz programs in educational institutions.
Rana Ansar Mahmood also assured full support from the association for the initiatives of the Kashmir Center and the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Cell.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Inam-ul-Hasan presented a newly published booklet to Rana Ansar Mahmood.
