LAHORE: A delegation of federal law officers, along with newly elected representatives of bar associations, called on Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan in Islamabad.
The delegation included President of Rawalpindi High Court Bar Association Saeed Yousuf Khan and President of District Bar Association Sajid Awan. The Governor congratulated the newly elected office-bearers and extended his best wishes.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan emphasized that harmony between the bar and the bench is indispensable for ensuring speedy justice to litigants. He urged lawyers to play an active role in facilitating timely delivery of justice.
He noted that the legal community has historically played a vital role in upholding the supremacy of the Constitution, the rule of law, and democratic stability. The Governor also expressed satisfaction over the performance of law officers nominated by the Pakistan Peoples Party, adding that the party is gaining strength and popularity across the province.
He assured that the doors of the Governor House remain open to the public, including members of the legal fraternity, and pledged full cooperation in addressing issues faced by lawyers.
On the occasion, Malik Zaheer Arshad stated that the Pakistan Peoples Party has always safeguarded the rights of lawyers.
The meeting was also attended by former presidents of the Fateh Jang Bar Association, PPP General Secretary Fateh Jang Malik Qaiser Khan, newly elected PPP District Attock President Sardar Zaheer Khan Khattar, Sardar Muhammad Ali Khan, and President of the Benazir Income Support Program Officers Association Azmat Khan Khattar.
