LAHORE: University of the Punjab Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali said that the entire Pakistani nation is celebrating these days as “Days of Victory,” marking an important milestone in the country’s history.
He expressed these views while addressing the closing ceremony of the three-day All Pakistan Media Fest organized by the Department of Student Affairs and Pioneer Media Society at Faisal Auditorium.
On the occasion, MPA and PU Syndicate Member Chaudhry Muhammad Yousaf Kaselia, former Health Minister Dr. Saeed Elahi, DG SES Prof. Dr. Rehan Sadiq Shaikh, Director Student Affairs Dr. Shahzaib Khan, faculty members, and a large number of students were present.
Addressing the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali said that due to the unity of the Pakistan Armed Forces and national and political solidarity, the country has gained renewed energy, proving that unity enables the nation to confront every challenge firmly.
He stated that when India attacked Pakistan, the nation remained fearless. Referring to the “Battle of Truth,” he claimed that Pakistan shot down 11 enemy aircraft through intellectual capability, adding that those responsible were graduates of Pakistani universities.
He said that when a nation stands united behind its armed forces, any war can be won. He further remarked that while previously few people knew about Islamabad internationally, now “Islamabad Talks” are being discussed globally, and Pakistan’s importance has increased significantly.
The Vice Chancellor said Pakistan had played a role in preventing a third world war, which he described as a matter of pride. He congratulated Pakistan’s political and military leadership, as well as the public, saying that the country’s positive image is now being highlighted around the world.
He emphasized that the primary purpose of universities is to polish students’ personalities and knowledge so they can become responsible citizens. He noted that science, technology, and artificial intelligence are of key importance in the modern era and said Pakistani youth are making the country proud internationally through their abilities.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali appreciated the efforts of Pioneer Media Society President student Ahmed Bajwa for successfully organizing the Media Fest and praised the organizers for their hard work.
Meanwhile, Dr. Shahzaib Khan thanked the Vice Chancellor for his support, stating that organizing the festival would not have been possible without his cooperation. He said the three-day Media Fest included musical performances, poetry recitals, and various student competitions, organized with the support of sponsors without placing any additional financial burden on the university.
