Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal vows zero tolerance against those endangering lives
Karachi — Pakistan’s ongoing crackdown on counterfeit and unregistered medicines has gained significant momentum, with authorities dismantling several major illegal networks in Karachi over the past three months.
According to a spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, raids were conducted across multiple areas of the city, targeting networks involved in the manufacturing and distribution of fake pharmaceuticals. Large quantities of counterfeit and unregistered medicines were seized during the operations.
The crackdown is part of a nationwide campaign, with law enforcement agencies and health regulators coordinating efforts to eliminate the trade of substandard drugs that pose a serious risk to public health.
Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal issued a stern warning, stating that those who play with human lives will face the full force of the law. “There will be absolutely no leniency for elements endangering lives through fake medicines,” the minister said.
Authorities have indicated that further operations are underway and more arrests are expected in the coming days.
