Lahore — Pakistan is set to welcome international hockey back to its soil after a prolonged absence, as the Pakistan Hockey Federation has formally invited South Korea for a four-match Test series to be played in Pakistan.
PHF President Muhiuddin Wani, speaking on Geo News’ sports programme Score, revealed that discussions with the Korean hockey federation are currently in their early stages. He expressed optimism that the talks would be concluded soon, adding that the PHF is eager to host the series in the last week of July this year.
The proposed series is being viewed as a landmark moment for Pakistan hockey, which has long struggled to attract top international teams for home fixtures. A successful hosting of the Korean side could pave the way for more international competitions on Pakistani soil in the near future.
The PHF has been making concerted efforts to revive the country’s hockey infrastructure and restore its standing in the global game.
