LAHORE, May 18: Principal of Amir-ud-Din Medical College, Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal, has issued strict directives to the administration of Lahore General Hospital to ensure the provision of timely and high-quality healthcare services to patients.
Chairing a comprehensive review meeting of hospital operations, Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal stated that no negligence in implementing government Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) would be tolerated. He warned that administrative doctors failing to comply with the prescribed guidelines would face immediate departmental transfers.
During the meeting, the Principal summoned the complete biometric attendance record of the sanitary inspector for the past four months and directed that it be submitted within 24 hours. He also instructed the Medical Superintendent (MS) of LGH to initiate disciplinary action against non-performing employees, irrespective of their rank or designation.
Additionally, private cleanliness and security companies operating within the hospital premises have been given a 72-hour ultimatum to improve their performance. Prof. Farooq Afzal warned that strict departmental action would be taken in accordance with regulations if visible improvements were not observed within the stipulated timeframe.
The Principal and MS LGH emphasized that healthcare professionals must perform their duties with dedication to meet the expectations of both the government and the public, ensuring maximum relief and quality treatment for every patient visiting the hospital.
Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal also directed continuous monitoring of all hospital departments to regularly evaluate administrative performance and address shortcomings through real-time feedback mechanisms.
