The Government of Pakistan has announced a reduction in petroleum product prices, offering relief to millions of consumers amid ongoing economic pressures. According to an official notification issued by the Federal Government, petrol prices have been cut by Rs. 6 per litre, while High Speed Diesel (HSD) has been reduced by Rs. 6.80 per litre.
Following the revision, petrol will now be available at Rs. 403.78 per litre, while diesel has been fixed at Rs. 403.58 per litre across the country.
The new prices will come into effect at midnight tonight, as per the government’s directive.
Officials cited a decline in global crude oil prices as the primary reason behind the downward revision, adding that the adjustment is intended to ease the burden on transport operators, industries, and ordinary citizens. Fuel prices in Pakistan are typically reviewed on a fortnightly basis in line with international market fluctuations and currency exchange rates.
