LAHORE: Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Fazlur Rehman presided over an important meeting regarding sports development schemes at Punjab Stadium on Monday.
The meeting reviewed the utilization of funds, pace of construction work and quality standards of ongoing sports development schemes in detail.
Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi, Additional Secretary Sports Shabbir Hussain Cheema, Director Youth Affairs M Fahad and officers from the PMU attended the meeting.
Addressing the participants, Secretary Sports Punjab Fazlur Rehman directed the concerned officials to complete the 15 slow-moving sports schemes within the stipulated timeframe.
“There will be no compromise on the quality of material in the construction of sports complexes,” he said.
He further stated that 77 percent of the allocated funds had been utilized in the construction of development sports schemes. “The Youth Affairs and Sports Department is taking effective steps for youth development and the promotion of sports culture,” he added.
Fazlur Rehman said that modern sports complexes were being constructed in all divisions of Punjab. He added that practical measures were being taken for youth welfare and the promotion of sports in line with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
