Kuwait International Airport has been placed on emergency status following Iranian missile and drone strikes, with several airport installations sustaining serious damage and reports of casualties emerging.
Kuwait’s Ministry of Defense stated that enemy missiles and drones launched late at night were successfully intercepted and destroyed mid-air by the country’s air defense systems. The ministry confirmed that the loud explosions heard across the region were the result of its defensive countermeasures.
The Civil Aviation Authority announced that all flights have been suspended until further notice, with inbound aircraft being diverted to alternative airports. The authority added that multiple airport facilities suffered significant damage in the Iranian strikes.
