LAHORE: Punjab students will gain access to world-class Artificial Intelligence-powered educational facilities as the provincial government moves to integrate advanced AI technologies into the education sector, officials said on Tuesday.
The announcement came during a meeting between Punjab Chief Minister’s Adviser on AI and Special Initiatives, Ali Dar, and the AXI team, attended by Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat. Discussions focused on incorporating locally developed Large Language Models (LLMs) into Punjab’s education system and expanding the use of Artificial Intelligence in classrooms and learning environments.
Ali Dar said the initiative aligns with the vision of Maryam Nawaz Sharif to transform Punjab into an AI-enabled, knowledge-based economy. He said students across the province would be equipped with modern digital tools designed to prepare them for future academic and professional challenges.
According to officials, locally developed AI models will provide personalized learning support tailored to individual student needs, making education more accessible, efficient and outcome-driven. The technology is also expected to enhance students’ research abilities, creativity and problem-solving skills.
The government believes that introducing advanced technologies into educational institutions will accelerate the transition toward digital learning. Students are expected to benefit from access to high-quality educational content in local languages and within relevant cultural and social contexts.
Officials further noted that AI-driven reforms could help reduce educational disparities between urban and rural areas by expanding access to learning resources and improving teaching methods. Educators are also expected to benefit from AI-assisted tools designed to strengthen classroom instruction and learning outcomes.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to promoting Artificial Intelligence, educational innovation and locally developed technology solutions as part of broader efforts to prepare Punjab’s youth for the opportunities and challenges of a rapidly evolving digital economy.
