UK-Based PML-N Delegation Meets Barrister Amjad Malik to Discuss Overseas Pakistanis’ Welfare

LAHORE/UNITED KINGDOM: A delegation led by Haji Abdul Ghaffar, Patron of Pakistan Muslim League (N) UK and owner of Sanam Sweets, met Barrister Amjad Malik, Provincial Minister and Vice Chairman of the Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) Punjab, at his chambers in the United Kingdom to discuss issues concerning overseas Pakistanis and government welfare initiatives.
The delegation comprised Haji Abdul Ghaffar, Haji Abdul Jabbar, Haji Mahmood-ul-Hasan (Numberdar, 95/6-R Sahiwal), Chaudhry Muhammad Anwar, and other associates. They congratulated Barrister Amjad Malik on the successful completion of Hajj and extended their best wishes.
During the meeting, the participants held detailed discussions on the challenges faced by overseas Pakistanis, the role and mandate of the Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab, and government initiatives aimed at improving services and welfare for expatriate Pakistanis. They also exchanged views on strengthening ties between Rochdale and Sahiwal, as well as enhancing passport, visa, NICOP, and other public services for overseas Pakistanis.
Barrister Amjad Malik said the Punjab government is actively working to provide stronger institutional support and additional facilities for overseas Pakistanis. He added that efforts are underway to expand the jurisdiction of special courts established for the speedy resolution of illegal property occupation cases involving overseas Pakistanis from Punjab to other provinces and Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
He further said that the government is considering introducing awards and other incentives to recognize the valuable contributions made by overseas Pakistanis.
The delegation also welcomed the election of Faisal Rana, a British Pakistani, as the Mayor of Rochdale, and congratulated Barrister Amjad Malik on his appointment as Vice Chairman of the Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab.
Speaking on the occasion, Haji Abdul Ghaffar said that whenever the Pakistan Muslim League (N) has been entrusted with public service, it has strengthened institutions such as the Overseas Pakistanis Commission and the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation, while giving priority to resolving the issues faced by overseas Pakistanis.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Barrister Amjad Malik invited Haji Abdul Ghaffar, Haji Abdul Jabbar, Haji Mahmood-ul-Hasan, Chaudhry Muhammad Anwar, and the accompanying delegation to visit the Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab, where he presented them with the Commission’s commemorative emblem as a token of goodwill.
