LAHORE: Medical Superintendent of Lahore General Hospital (LGH), Prof. Dr. Fryad Hussain, has nominated Dr. Sundas Tahir as Deputy Medical Superintendent (Administration) in a move aimed at strengthening transparency, discipline, and administrative efficiency within the hospital.
According to an official statement, Dr. Sundas Tahir has been directed to assume charge immediately. She has been assigned responsibility for ensuring the attendance and discipline of paramedical staff while maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment throughout the hospital in accordance with public health standards.
Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Fryad Hussain conducted a surprise inspection of various hospital departments to review cleanliness arrangements. During the visit, he issued a stern warning to the contractor responsible for the hospital’s private cleaning services, making it clear that there would be zero tolerance for any compromise on hygiene standards.
The Medical Superintendent instructed the contractor to ensure high standards of cleanliness in hospital wards, washrooms, and all other areas, maintain regular staff attendance, and implement an effective monitoring mechanism. He warned that any negligence or failure to comply with the prescribed standards would invite strict action under the relevant rules and regulations.
Prof. Dr. Fryad Hussain emphasized that providing a clean, safe, and patient-friendly environment for patients and their attendants is the foremost responsibility of the hospital administration. He also directed senior doctors and administrative officials to strengthen daily monitoring of cleanliness, discipline, and operational affairs to ensure patients receive uninterrupted healthcare services.
Reaffirming his commitment to the healthcare vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and the policies of the Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Department, the Medical Superintendent said that delivering quality medical services remains the highest priority of Lahore General Hospital.
He added that all available resources would be utilized to promote cleanliness, discipline, accountability, and an efficient administrative system, while a strict zero-tolerance policy would continue to be enforced against negligence at every level.
