The Chinese delegation was led by Chairman Xu Xiang and included Country Director Wang Zhenrong along with representatives of the Tabani Group. Senior officials of the Board of Investment (BOI) also attended the meeting.
Welcoming the delegation, the Federal Minister appreciated their visit and praised the Tabani Group for its role in strengthening business ties between Pakistan and China. He emphasized the enduring strategic partnership between the two countries and underscored the expanding opportunities for economic cooperation in the evolving regional landscape.
During the meeting, the SDHS delegation presented an overview of the company’s global operations. As one of China’s largest state-owned infrastructure and investment enterprises, Shandong Hi-Speed Group manages assets exceeding RMB 1 trillion and operates in more than 100 countries. The group oversees over 10,000 kilometers of expressways and nearly 3,000 kilometers of high-speed railway, with major investments in infrastructure, energy, logistics, and industrial development under the Belt and Road Initiative.
The delegation also briefed the Minister on its ongoing projects in Pakistan, particularly in the oil and gas sector, including a recent collaboration with OGDCL in Hyderabad. Expressing strong interest in expanding investments in Pakistan’s transport, logistics, connectivity, and infrastructure sectors, the delegation reaffirmed its commitment to exploring new opportunities.

He stressed the country’s strategic location, modernizing transport infrastructure, ports, and connectivity corridors that provide access to China and Central Asia.
Drawing on his own business experience, the Minister said joint ventures between Pakistani and Chinese companies represent a sustainable model for long-term economic growth. He also highlighted Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s strong commitment to attracting foreign investment and deepening Pakistan’s economic partnership with China.
The Minister noted that the Board of Investment, in collaboration with the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination, successfully organized the Pakistan–China B2B Investment Conference to promote sector-specific partnerships and investment opportunities.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to investors, he assured the delegation that the Board of Investment (BOI) and the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) would provide full support and facilitation at every stage of the investment process, adding that ongoing reforms have created a more business-friendly environment for foreign investors.
