Punjab Minister Inaugurates Over Rs. 5 Billion Development Package for Phool Nagar

LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Law Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan has formally inaugurated a historic development package worth more than Rs. 5 billion for Phool Nagar, Tehsil Pattoki, District Kasur, under the Chief Minister Punjab Development Programme.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony, the provincial minister said that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif is committed to ensuring that the benefits of development reach every city and town across Punjab, enabling citizens to enjoy modern and quality public services. He said the Pakistan Muslim League (N) government is fulfilling its commitments to the people, and the development projects reflect that promise.
Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan said the comprehensive package would mark a new chapter in Phool Nagar’s development. The projects include the construction of a modern sewerage system, storm-water drainage network, wastewater treatment plant, rehabilitation of disposal stations, construction and rehabilitation of roads and streets, upgrading of public parks, installation of modern streetlights, solarization, and several other public welfare initiatives aimed at improving civic infrastructure.
He added that the development of parks, green belts, modern street lighting, and solar-powered facilities would enhance the city’s beauty, promote environmental sustainability, and improve residents’ quality of life. The upgraded drainage system, he noted, would also help address monsoon flooding and other seasonal challenges more effectively.
Speaking at the public gathering, the minister also condemned recent remarks made by Maulana Fazlur Rehman regarding the Pakistan Armed Forces. He urged the JUI-F chief to withdraw his statement and apologize to the nation, stating that the Pakistan Armed Forces symbolize the country’s security, sovereignty, and defence, and enjoy the support of the entire nation.
Local elected representatives, party leaders, community elders, and residents attending the ceremony thanked Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for announcing the development package. They expressed confidence that the completion of these projects would usher in a new era of development, prosperity, and improved public services in Phool Nagar.
