LAHORE, July 29: Punjab Minister for Law Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan has reaffirmed the Punjab Government’s commitment to promoting the physiotherapy profession, stating that investing in young healthcare professionals is essential for strengthening Pakistan’s healthcare system.

He expressed these views while addressing the certificate distribution ceremony of the two-month internship programme organised by PhysioGrow Clinic & Academy at the Committee Room, New Ministers’ Block, where he attended as the chief guest and distributed certificates among the successful interns.

The ceremony was hosted by renowned physiotherapist and Founder of PhysioGrow Clinic & Academy, Dr. Zahid Mirza. Dr. Umm-e-Roman, faculty members, physiotherapists, students and distinguished guests from various fields also attended the event.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Zahid Mirza highlighted the academy’s mission of providing professional training and enhancing the practical skills of young physiotherapists. He said the internship programme was designed to equip participants with modern clinical knowledge, hands-on experience and effective patient care skills to prepare them for successful professional careers.

Addressing the participants, Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan congratulated the interns on successfully completing the programme and described Pakistan’s youth as the country’s greatest asset and its hope for the future. He stressed that quality education, professional training and practical exposure are vital for producing competent healthcare professionals.

The minister said physiotherapy is not merely a profession but a noble mission of serving humanity. He noted that helping a person with a disability regain mobility, enabling a stroke patient to walk again, or assisting an injured individual in returning to normal life reflects the dedication, expertise and compassion of physiotherapists.

Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan reiterated that the Punjab Government would continue supporting the physiotherapy profession, raising public awareness of its importance and addressing the challenges faced by physiotherapists. He assured participants that the government would provide every possible support, including legislative initiatives where required, to strengthen rehabilitation services within the healthcare sector.

He also appreciated the contributions of Dr. Zahid Mirza, Dr. Umm-e-Roman and the entire PhysioGrow Clinic & Academy team for their outstanding efforts in training young physiotherapists and developing skilled healthcare professionals. He said institutions like PhysioGrow are playing a significant role in improving healthcare services and preparing a competent workforce for the future.

The ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates among the successful interns, while the Provincial Minister extended his best wishes for their future careers and encouraged them to continue serving humanity with professionalism, dedication and integrity.
