Washington — Hunter Biden, son of former U.S. President Joe Biden, has said that his father’s prostate cancer has spread to other parts of his body and is causing him severe pain. Hunter described the diagnosis as extremely difficult for the family.
In a detailed interview with the BBC, an emotional Hunter Biden said the cancer has reached his father’s bones, causing significant pain and leaving him weakened in many ways. He added that caring for his father has become a major challenge for the family.
Joe Biden, who became president at age 83, has been the subject of public concern over his health for years. Biden and his White House advisers have faced repeated accusations of hiding health issues, particularly around the time he decided not to run again in the 2024 presidential race. After a poor debate performance against Donald Trump in June 2024 and pressure from within the Democratic Party, Biden withdrew from the presidential contest. Trump later defeated then–Vice President Kamala Harris.
Biden announced his cancer diagnosis in May last year, less than four months after leaving the White House. There has been no official comment yet from Biden or any White House representatives regarding the latest remarks.
