A popular TikToker was shot dead by unidentified armed men in Taxila, Rawalpindi, while her 15-year-old younger sister was injured in the attack.
According to police, Shamsu Bibi, also known as Ayesha, was called out of her home before the incident. She was travelling in a car with her brother and another person when motorcycle-borne attackers opened fire near the Taxila Bypass.
Shamsu Bibi sustained a bullet wound to the neck and died at the scene. Following the firing, the car went out of control and collided with a dumper, injuring her younger sister, Asmiya. She was shifted to a hospital for medical treatment.
Police said the victim had around 1.3 million followers on TikTok and had been active on the platform for nearly four years. A case has been registered at Taxila Police Station on the complaint of the victim’s father.
The FIR states that Shamsu Bibi was reportedly involved in a financial dispute with individuals identified as Kosar and Javed, alias Shahin. Police have launched an investigation from different angles, while efforts are under way to arrest the suspects.
