IG Punjab orders foolproof security at mosques, imambargahs and other sensitive locations

LAHORE: Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem has ordered heightened security across the province, including Lahore, on the occasion of Friday prayers, directing police officers to ensure foolproof security arrangements at mosques, imambargahs, shrines, markets and other sensitive locations.

The IG Punjab directed police to increase patrolling around mosques, imambargahs, business centres and major roads to ensure the safety and security of citizens.

He said maintaining law and order and protecting the lives, property and belongings of citizens was the foremost priority of the Punjab Police.

Abdul Kareem directed all District Police Officers (DPOs) and senior police officers to remain present in the field and personally monitor security arrangements in their respective areas.

He further instructed police officers to engage with citizens after Friday prayers through outreach visits at mosques, listen to their problems and take effective measures for their immediate resolution.

The IG Punjab emphasized that close coordination between police officers and citizens was essential for maintaining a peaceful and secure environment across the province.
