Spiritual Mehfil-e-Milad Held at Lahore Press Club for Women Journalists and Their Families

LAHORE, September 6: A spiritual and blessed Mehfil-e-Milad was organized at the Lahore Press Club under the auspices of the Lahore Press Club Governing Body and the National Women Journalists Forum, bringing together women journalists, their families, members of the journalistic community and distinguished guests in an atmosphere of devotion and reverence for the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
The event was organized by Najaf President Farzana Chaudhry, Rabia Azmat, Member of the Governing Body of Lahore Press Club, General Secretary Najaf Darakhshanda Alamdar and Information Secretary Najaf Nabila Akbar.
The distinguished guests included Begum Amna Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman, Provincial Minister for Finance; Asia Sayal, Director and Founder of Lama and Designer Collection and a women entrepreneurship advocate; Sameda, Director Member and CSO of Shazo Pharmaceutical Company; Sumbal Malik, Member of the Punjab Assembly; Begum Mehak Zubair Ansari, Chairman of the Awami Muttahida Movement and Executive Member of Lahore Ladies Club; and former Member of the Punjab Assembly Farzana Butt. Ambrain Farooq also participated as a special guest.
A large number of female journalists, their families and families of male journalists attended the gathering.
The Mehfil began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Laiba Saleem. Hafiza Qaria Ayesha and other participants, including Iqra Saleem, Laiba Saleem and female Naat Khawans, presented Naat in praise of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Senior journalist and prominent member of Najaf, Aafia Jahangir, also addressed the gathering with beautiful and heartfelt words. Senior journalists and Lahore Press Club senior council members Kashf and Aishal Zainab, along with the daughters of senior journalist Farooq Supra, senior journalist’s wife Uzma Asim, Safia Khalida Sabri and renowned poet Najma Shaheen, presented Naats in melodious voices that deeply moved the audience.
Former Member of the Punjab Assembly and Chief Editor of Saiban Magazine Kanwal Naseem, along with senior journalist and PTV anchor Azki Maqsood, performed the duties of stage moderation with confidence and grace.
A large number of journalists, office-bearers and members attended the event, including Sadia Salahuddin, Mubashra Sultan, Fawzia Hamid, Atiya Zaidi, Fawzia Gohar, Begum Javed Farooqi, Iffat Alvi, Azala Ismat, Saman Khan, Lubna Khan, Fawzia Sultana, Maimuna Siddiqa, Saima Nazir, Shaheen Rashid, Tehzeen Tahir, Tabinda Zahid, Nadeem Farooqi, Zahida Parveen, Ujala Riaz, Samra Fatima, Begum Farooq Supra, Saima Sajjad, Halima Sadia, Sabira Azmat, Shehla Adil, Khalida Ashfaq, Nazia Butt, Rukhsana Liaquat, Nabeela Shaheen, Saba Chaudhry, Iman Fatima, Shezray Fatima, Amara, Nadia, Saharsh and other distinguished guests.
Amna Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman Appreciates Organizers
Begum Amna Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman congratulated the Najaf team for organizing a grand Mehfil-e-Milad and particularly appreciated the efforts of Najaf President Farzana Chaudhry, Lahore Press Club Governing Body Member Rabia Azmat and Information Secretary Nabila Akbar.
Speaking about the blessed birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the significance of Milad, Begum Amna Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman said that the tradition of holding Milad gatherings had been initiated by her mother-in-law, Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman.
She said Milad was a powerful means of promoting love and devotion for the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in the hearts of people.
Begum Amna Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman also expressed gratitude to Lahore Press Club President Arshad Ansari for his cooperation and support in organizing the spiritual gathering.
Guests Praise the Spiritual Gathering
Asia Sayal expressed happiness over the organization of the spiritual gathering at the Press Club and thanked the National Women Journalists Forum for providing an opportunity to participate in the blessed occasion.
Punjab Assembly Member Sumbal Malik also extended her prayers and best wishes for the success of the gathering.
Najaf President Farzana Chaudhry thanked Lahore Press Club President Arshad Ansari for his special assistance in organizing the Mehfil-e-Milad. She said Arshad Ansari had consistently supported the development and empowerment of women journalists and encouraged their participation in Press Club activities.
Farzana Chaudhry also expressed gratitude to the Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore Women’s Wing and the Hamdard Foundation for their cooperation and support in making the event successful.
Special Prayers for Pakistan, Muslim Ummah, Palestine and Kashmir
The gathering concluded with collective prayers and salutations upon the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Journalist Fawzia Sultana led the concluding prayer in an emotional and heartfelt voice. Special prayers were offered for the progress, peace and prosperity of the Muslim Ummah, the stability and prosperity of Pakistan, and for the oppressed Muslims of Palestine and Kashmir and their freedom.
The organizers had also made comprehensive arrangements to facilitate women journalists, their families and other distinguished guests attending the spiritual gathering.
