Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has decided to consult President Asif Ali Zardari on the political and security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with a key meeting summoned at the President’s House this evening.
According to sources, the meeting will review constitutional and legal options, including the possible imposition of governor’s rule or an emergency under Article 232 of the Constitution. The prime minister is expected to brief the president on the province’s law-and-order situation and the ongoing political tensions.
The development follows a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz, where the situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and possible federal measures were discussed. No final decision has so far been announced on imposing governor’s rule or emergency in the province.
