CAPE TOWN,Protests were held in several countries against the war in Gaza, with demonstrators expressing solidarity with Palestinians and demanding an end to the conflict.
Thousands marched in support of Palestine in Cape Town, South Africa, where former British MP George Galloway also took part. Demonstrators in Geneva and Seoul called for an end to military operations against Palestinians in Gaza. A protest in central London voiced concern over the situation in Gaza and the West Bank. In Berlin, a demonstration was also held, with reports of tension between some protesters and police.
Meanwhile, the Hamaya Center for Human Rights said in a fact sheet titled “Genocide,” published Saturday, that children have borne the heaviest toll since the war began on October 7, 2023. The centre said its staff in Gaza documented the killing of 21,745 children under 18 and recorded about 46,000 child injuries, including 11,000 amputation cases. It added that hundreds of thousands of children have been deprived of their basic rights.
