Ankara,(Agencies) — Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan warned that Israel has become “out of control” and now poses a threat to regional peace, following recent strikes in Qatar that targeted Palestinian representatives.
Speaking ahead of the UN General Assembly in New York, Erdogan said Ankara could “no longer tolerate” Israel’s actions, calling them reckless and destabilizing for the Middle East.
The Turkish leader also criticized the United States for refusing to grant visas to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and other officials to attend the UN gathering, describing the move as a violation of Washington’s obligations as host country to the world body.
Erdogan urged the international community to hold Israel accountable and to ensure Palestinian participation in global forums, warning that continued exclusion would further undermine prospects for peace.
