New York/London,(International Desk):
U.S. President Donald Trump used his address at the United Nations General Assembly to launch a fresh attack on London Mayor Sadiq Khan, accusing him of attempting to introduce Islamic Sharia law in the British capital.
“I look at London and see a horrible mayor — a truly horrible mayor — and now he wants to impose Sharia,” Trump said in his remarks, adding that Britain under Khan’s leadership “feels like a completely different country.”
The clash is the latest in a long-running feud between Trump and Khan. The London mayor has consistently criticized Trump’s immigration policies and what he describes as anti-Muslim rhetoric, while Trump has repeatedly taken aim at Khan’s leadership in the past.
