ISLAMABAD: Strong tremors were felt in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Swat, Chitral, and adjoining areas on Thursday evening, causing panic among residents.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the earthquake struck at 5:15 PM with a magnitude of 5.6, and its epicenter was located in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan at a depth of 120 kilometers.
Residents rushed out of homes and offices reciting prayers as buildings shook. No immediate reports of casualties or damage have been received so far.
