The Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur has opened in Merdeka 118, the tallest skyscraper in Southeast Asia and second-tallest in the world at 2,227 feet. Only the Burj Khalifa in Dubai is taller at 2,717 feet.
The luxury hotel occupies floors 75 through 115 of the high-rise, giving guests views of the Kuala Lumpur skyline.
Each of the 252 guestrooms and suites feature floor-to-ceiling windows, and shutters allow for an illumination of natural light. Suites feature a full bath with a separate rain shower and aromatherapy shower steamer, a double vanity, a walk-in dressing room, a personal study area and, in select rooms, private dining spaces overlooking the cityscape.
Interiors by G.A Group are inspired by the traditional Malay kampung house. Hyatt said an array of artwork celebrates the colors and natural forms of Malaysia. Timber accents and woven textures are inspired by traditional basket weaving and Peranakan textures. Perforated brass screens, etched with batik canting patterns, balance openness with intimacy.
Dining and wellness
Restaurants include Merdeka Grill and Park Lounge. Hyatt calls Merdeka Lounge a “modern grill experience,” focusing on premium cuts of meat, sustainable seafood and locally sourced produce. Signature dishes will be prepared or carved tableside, such as the cedar-wood roasted salmon, chateaubriand and vanilla ice cream topped with local T’lur caviar.
Park Lounge is an all-day dining restaurant serving traditional Malaysian dishes including Botok Ikan and Gulai Tauco Minang. Park Lounge also offers an afternoon tea experience.
Cacao Mixology & Chocolate is a chocolate-themed bar serving chocolate-themed cocktails and handcrafted chocolate treats. The bar overlooks the iconic Petronas Twin Towers.
The 99th floor is the Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur’s wellness area, featuring a yoga movement studio, a fitness center with Integrity+ Series cardio equipment from Life Fitness, private treatment suites with dressing rooms, a relaxation lounge with aromatherapy steam bath and Himalayan salt alcove, a vitality pool, and an infinity pool overlooking the skyline.
Hyatt said the spa offers circadian therapies designed to harmonize guests’ energy cycles — from an invigorating start to the day to restorative rituals that ensure a restful night’s sleep. Guests can make their own blend of bath salts.
