LAHORE, March 30, 2026 — The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has imposed a fine of Rs 20 million (2 crore rupees) on fast bowler Naseem Shah over a controversial social media post that was found to be in violation of his central contract.
The PCB issued a show-cause notice to Naseem Shah on March 27, 2026, citing multiple breaches of his central contract terms and seeking an explanation from the pacer.
Following receipt of Naseem Shah’s response, a three-member disciplinary committee convened on March 30 to hear the case. After reviewing his stance, the committee ruled that — even taking into account his unconditional apology — Naseem Shah was found guilty of violating several clauses of his central contract and was handed a Rs 20 million penalty.
The PCB also confirmed that Naseem Shah has already dismissed his social media advisor, and the board will blacklist the individual to prevent them from working with any PCB-contracted player in the future.
The PCB reaffirmed its commitment to upholding professional standards, contractual obligations, and the integrity of the game.
