Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to the Roshan Digital Account (RDA) scheme at a diaspora leaders’ evening held at the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington, D.C. The event was organised in collaboration with the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and the Pakistan Banks’ Association (PBA).
Addressing overseas Pakistani community leaders, the Finance Minister paid tribute to the diaspora’s pivotal role in supporting Pakistan’s economy, describing remittances as a cornerstone of the country’s external resilience.
Aurangzeb highlighted that even during Pakistan’s severe balance of payments crisis — when foreign exchange reserves had plunged to historic lows — the government placed no restrictions on RDA deposits, underscoring its long-term dedication to the scheme.
He also welcomed the new features and expanded investment options recently introduced to the platform, and encouraged expatriate Pakistanis to leverage the RDA to invest in Pakistan’s economic recovery and growth.
The event concluded with an interactive session between the Finance Minister and diaspora representatives.
